I can't yet explain why I haven't crossed the Wyoming border. There are "reasons" of course. Like staying to repair some gear that has been in tatters for a long time now or because I am trying to get Taceo fed up or because I've found a good opportunity to use a computer and catch up on writing and editing photos. But, I think it's time that i admit that I'm stalled partially because I don't want to leave Wyoming. It is afterall the "cowboy state", and I've found good company, interesting company, and perhaps I've been able to see what the locals see in these small Wyoming towns. And once you get to know a person beyond the basic cordial interest it's hard to stop. I have met some incredible characters! I will introduce some of them soon, but for now I'll just say that meeting these people has been probably my favorite part and then hardest part when it's time to saddle up again and ride on. Tomorrow I will cross over into Idaho, where I'll make my way to a ranch in Victor. It will take us three or four days and we'll be crossing the snake river range on trails to get there. We haven't traveled on many trails yet as it's generally a less efficient way to get from point a to point b when you have 1400 miles on horseback in front of you. We've been in the mountains quite a bit but on roads. Another thing I will admit is that this next leg will put my courage to the test. It's not yellowstone, but it's close and that means bears and that means grizzlies. With a few recent fatal attacks who wouldn't feel apprehensive? Not to be too foreboding, it's just a reminder to be cautious and be aware. Beary aware! I am armed with both a side arm and bear spray, but I hope neither ever have to be used. I am wishing for a safe, beautiful pack trip over the mountains into my next state with new people and new places.
I was able to upload one of the songs that a friend wrote and another should be coming soon just as soon as figure out how to create another music box in cyber space...I feel so honored to have music sent my way. Music that carries a part of my heart and my experience. I'm feeling lucky!
Well, I am off tomorrow. (Unless I'm not in which case I'll leave on another day...). Wish us luck! I can't wait to tell you how beautiful the snake river range is.
This has been home for the last week. We were so lucky to have a corral.

The storm that I watched from the cab of a truck. So happy to be inside!

The rainbow after the storm. I'm pretty sure the pot of gold was in those porty potties.

Ominous. Pretty sure this is the picture next to the definition in websters collegiate.
